Pepsi Cola Sign Long Island City Print, Queens NYC Photography
Pepsi Cola Sign Long Island City Print, Queens NYC Photography
Located along the East River waterfront in Gantry Plaza State Park, the historic Pepsi-Cola sign has been a defining feature of Long Island City for generations. Originally installed atop the Pepsi-Cola bottling plant that once stood along the waterfront, the sign was preserved when the factory was demolished and now stands within the park as a reminder of Queens' industrial past. The sign was designated a New York City Individual Landmark in 2016.
Once surrounded by factories and working waterfront infrastructure, Long Island City has transformed dramatically into one of New York City's most recognizable residential and cultural neighborhoods. Today, the preserved sign stands among the modern skyline and waterfront park, creating a striking contrast between old and new New York.
