Bates Cairn (Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail, Acadia Nt'l Park)

from $20.00

In the early 1900s, Acadia trail builder Waldron Bates introduced what we now call the Bates cairn. It consists of two large base stones supporting a mantel between them. A fourth rock, rests on top and, along with the base stones, points in the direction of the trail. Sometimes two layers of base rocks are used to gain height for added visibility (Via Friends of Acadia).

♥ This photo is printed on Luster paper, which is a traditional photographic paper with very subtle texture, and a slight sheen without being glossy.

♥ Please note the colors you see on your monitor may differ slightly from the print due to variations in monitor settings.

♥ Photographs are packaged securely and shipped flat.

♥ This print does not come framed, but if you contact me I am happy to provide the framing sources I use!

♥ Custom orders are welcome: Reach out to me if you are looking for a larger print size! I shoot on a full frame camera so the prints can get quite large while still remaining stunning quality.
